How your major donations can help
Build a brighter and more positive future
By inspiring today’s chemistry community and ensuring that the next generation has access to a life-changing education, you can invest in a bright, strong and hopeful future for the chemical sciences.
A major gift of £5,000 or above will have an enormous impact on what these brilliant scientists can achieve. And by investing in the future, you will make sure they are ready to meet the world’s most pressing challenges - from climate change to disease control to the ending of global hunger.
A way to fund real and meaningful change
Together, we’ll identify the areas of our work that are most important to you. So if childhood education is your passion we will provide continued professional development (CPD) for teachers, close learning gaps between advantaged and disadvantaged students and support practical skills for both teachers and students.
And if you’re determined to ensure that scientists are supported throughout their career, we will fund grants to support mobility, removing barriers and enabling all scientists to collaborate with each other to help solve the most pressing global challenges and award prizes to recognise scientific excellence.
With regular updates and reports, you'll always know how and where your money is being spent. You’ll receive recognition and support, as well as invitations to exclusive events where you can connect with like-minded individuals from the chemical science community.
Hear from our major donors
The Yusuf Hamied Inspirational Science Programme
Since 2014, The Yusuf Hamied Inspirational Science Programme has improved science education across India by providing free ‘chemistry camp’ places to thousands of students from underprivileged backgrounds, as well as upskilling and supporting their teachers.
Dr Hamied says of his philanthropic support "India’s next generation of chemists and scientists could play a significant role in shaping the world we live in and improving our day-to-day lives, which is why I am so passionate about this programme.
We must make sure our teachers have the right tools and information to ensure students are excited and engaged by chemistry so we can nurture the next generation of talent.
In memory of James Diamond
Ann Helsby, who donated earlier this year to the 蹤獲扦 in memory of her late father, says "My late father, James Diamond, was a Fellow of the RSC and had been a member for over 60 years. As Executors my son and I were therefore pleased to be able to make a donation in his memory. The RSC, the importance of scientific work going forward, and the provision of education were all very important aspects to my father during his lifetime.
We therefore chose to donate to the undergraduate research bursaries and technician grants to facilitate opportunities that perhaps promising individuals would not otherwise have available to them. We hope this will help to make a difference to them.
An opportunity that’s right for you
We are incredibly grateful for the kind philanthropy of our donors, as without their generosity we couldn’t fulfil our important mission.
If you are considering your own philanthropic gift to the 蹤獲扦, we’d love to talk to you. To further discuss your wishes, and any significant opportunities that we can offer, please get in touch using the contact details on this page.
