Preparing Students for the New AQA AS Chemistry Examinations

23 February 2016 09:45-15:45, London, United Kingdom

Introduction
As we approach what is effectively the end of the teaching and learning period for the first year of the new style AS, the challenge is to prepare students for the examinations without access to past papers. Experienced teacher, examiner and Head of Chemistry, Rob King will guide you through the approach to the coming examinations, explain how the questions are put together and what it is that the examiners seek.

Looking in depth at the assessment structure and the language used by examiners, this comprehensive course will give you the opportunity to focus clearly on the assessment of your students and approach the revision phase with confidence that you understand the standard required for the new AS Chemistry from AQA. Understand the structure and standard of the assessment
  • Consider the effect of the Assessment Objectives on question style
  • Appreciate the necessity of getting all the basics right – and how to do it (Chemistry Skills)
  • Analyse questions requiring linkage
  • Adapt the answer to the context
  • Share best practice
