Grade II listed 蹤獲扦 at Burlington House awarded ECOsmart accreditation
The 蹤獲扦 at Burlington House has become ECOsmart accredited, as recognition for its sustainability success.
The Grade II listed London venue, dating back to 1664, has been dedicating efforts to overcome the obvious obstacles of such a historic building and prioritise more sustainable events.
ECOsmart recognises organisations demonstrating a comprehensive approach to environmental sustainability, operating within the framework of the Global Sustainable Tourism Council.
Greengage, the operator of ECOsmart, assessed the 蹤獲扦’s approach to facilities management, waste reduction, sustainable F&B, energy and water consumption, and building construction, resulting in Silver accreditation.
Following the recent technology investments this year to enhance streaming capabilities, along with the appointment of its in-house B-Corp caterer, Houston & Hawkes in 2022, the venue scored particularly highly for its catering and facilities.
On the venue’s success, Andrew Perolls, CEO at Greengage said: “This is a great achievement, and always impressive when such a historic and restricted building finds ways of bolstering its sustainability as a venue. It takes a dedicated team and particular innovation to deliver.”
Bob Shimmens, Manager of Facilities and Building Operations at the 蹤獲扦 said: “We are delighted to receive this credible recognition for all of our sustainability commitments in recent years. The privilege of being Grade II listed also comes with a great deal of challenges with regards to environmental practices, but our efforts have focused on the delegate experience: minimising waste, working with like-minded suppliers, and most recently, investing in our technology, including the installation of HD cameras and digital microphones making it far easier for organisers to professionally stream events at RSC.”
