Geoffrey Phillips Analytical Science Award

Our community recognising scientific excellence.

Geoffrey Phillips Analytical Science Award

Are you a PhD student, post-Doctoral Fellow or young scientist currently carrying out research or developing an innovative application of pharmaceutical analytical science?

If so, would you like the opportunity to win a prestigious award with a bursary of up to £1000 to attend a conference relevant to your area of interest?

In 2015 JPAG will award the Geoffrey Phillips Analytical Science Award to the young presenter of the best short paper at the APS PharmSci 2015 Conference.  Further details will be posted on the JPAG website.

The purpose of the award is to encourage the advancement of pharmaceutical analysis and to recognise contributions of emerging scientists reporting wholly or mainly their own work.

Entry is by presentation at a JPAG Short Papers meeting at a national conference and entries are judged on scientific quality, originality and potential impact of the research.

The 2014 winner was Amira Guirguis, University of Hertfordshire, Hatfield, for her presentation on "Investigation of ‘legal high substances, common cutting agents and adulterants using portable Raman Spectroscopy".  The Award was presented by JPAG Chairman, Dr Andy Teasdale, at the APS UK PharmSci Conference 2014, University of Hertfordshire, Hatfield.

Several of the previous award-winners have used the bursary to attend an international conference on some aspect of analytical science, and have also been invited to present their work at conferences in the UK.

For further information about the Award, including details of past winners, please visit the JPAG website.
