Sadly, earlier this year, Prof. Ken Wade passed away. Ken’s research in the areas of synthetic main group and organometallic chemistry coupled with his clear and logical thinking led him to develop an extremely elegant model for the bonding and structure of electron-deficient cluster compounds. Though much understated by Ken himself, these rules have had a profound impact across inorganic chemistry and beyond. To mark Ken’s significant contributions to inorganic and structural chemistry, in particular, we are organising a one-day inorganic chemistry symposium here in Durham on Monday 15th December 2015, kindly sponsored by the Dalton Division of the ÂÜÀòÉç. The speakers confirmed for this one-day event are: Prof. Catherine Housecroft, Dr Andrew Hughes, Prof. Robert Mulvey, Prof. Mike Mingos, and Prof. Alan Welch.
Attendance at the scientific symposium on the 15th December is free, but attendees are requested to please complete and return the registration form.
