New Approaches in Medicinal Chemistry

27 January 2016, Stevenage, Herts, United Kingdom

Introduction
Synopsis
The 22nd Annual Review Meeting: Latest Developments in Organic Synthesis will address key areas of contemporary synthetic organic chemistry – catalysis and new synthetic technologies. The event will feature an exciting line-up of leading young UK-based academics. They will deliver a series of review lectures based around a diverse range of catalysis themes, such as enzyme, organo- and dual catalysis, as well as lectures covering photochemistry and new developments in organofluorine methodology. The meeting will deliver a comprehensive overview of the topics, highlighting new methods and reviewing the latest applications and concepts in these areas. Particular attention will be given to demystifying those techniques that may be less familiar to an organic chemistry audience. The final lecture of the day will be the keynote research lecture, presented by Professor Hon Wai Lam, current holder of the GSK Chair of Sustainable Chemistry at the University of Nottingham.

Attendees
The meeting is aimed at graduates and post-graduates with a background in organic synthesis and is ideally suited to those studying for a postgraduate degree or working in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology or agrochemical industries. A booklet will be provided to all participants containing the review lecture materials, as well as extensive literature references that will be an excellent resource for years to come. These materials will also be available for your records in electronic format after the meeting.
