Learn all the essential theory of liquid chromatography and LC-MS along with hands-on practicals in the laboratory.
This course has been approved by the ÂÜÀòÉç for purposes of Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
The course covers solvents & buffers (the mobile phase), pumps, isocratic and gradient elution, sample introduction, analytical columns, HPLC detectors, mass spectrometry including tuning, ionisation, mass analysers, ion detector and data analysis. This knowledge will then be put into practice to create methods, perform injections and change parameters to see the effects.
The course discusses why maintenance is required and how to spot when maintenance is needed, along with practicals to carry out maintenance on both an HPLC and an LC-MS system.
Strategies for troubleshooting an HPLC or LC-MS instrument are covered and learning what problems can occur, with real problem solving on the instruments and data analysis software.
The course combines classroom-based presentations covering the essential theory, then putting the knowledge into practice in the laboratory with hands-on exercises on instrument set-up, method development, maintenance and troubleshooting.
Duration: 5 days
Scheduled course price: £2850 + VAT per delegate
